nopla.org is teaming up with local Glasgow social entrepreneurs to develop a series of products made from plastic waste.

The project’s main goal is to raise awareness about plastic pollution, demonstrating what valuable material it can be when used correctly.

The group will be collecting waste donations, converting the material into homeware and designer products.

Made from __ waste is an international project, with a European focus, as the team of social entrepreneurs will be moving across cities spreading the concept, empowering local entrepreneurs to expand the initiative.

There will be several ways in which waste materials will be process, however all techniques will entail collecting waste donation, cleaning and separating the material.

Once materials have been cleaned and categorised they are either shredded or cut into strips.

The shredded or cut material can be either melted to be pressed in moulds, or, through a more recent technique, is turned into a long filament which is then used to 3D print objects.

By combining traditional and innovative recycling methods Made from__ waste will demonstrate the value of the materials that we take for granted, shifting our attitude towards everyday objects while cleaning up the city.
